Introduction to the course

Overall, Basic Knowledge for Educational Research aims to prepare postgraduate students for conducting educational research. It therefore provides background knowledge related types of educational research as well as various forms of research methodology. The course is set particularly for graduates from non-education fields who newly enter postgraduate degrees in education.

Course objectives

1. Students are able to describe characteristics of the qualitative methodology in educational research

2. Students are able to describe characteristics of the quantitative methodology in educational research

3. Students are able to describe characteristics of mixed methods in educational research

4. Students are able to describe characteristics of classroom action research
